The Psalter has always been the prayer book of the Church—chanted, read, and woven into every daily service, every hymn, and the spiritual life of the faithful. In this unique volume, the timeless prayers of the Septuagint Psalms, presented according to their traditional Septuagint numbering, are offered after the manner of the living tradition of two beloved contemporary saints: Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian and Saint Paisios of Mount Athos.
Each Psalm is paired with a prayer intention assigned to it by Saint Arsenios, along with Saint Paisios’ own related petitions wherever they are known. Following each kathisma are carefully selected troparia and prayers drawn from the Church’s liturgical and ascetical tradition.
